Enjoy it in English and learn

Do you spend time watching your favourite TV show, reading a book or listening to a podcast in English? It’s not only enjoyable, but also a great way to learn the language. The problem is that many of us don’t learn very quickly. Enjoy it in English and learn is not your normal English course.

I won’t tell you what to read or listen to, or even what to talk about. What I will do is help you to learn from what you choose to read, watch and listen to in English by helping you to actively notice new language, talk about it, and practise using it. In short Enjoy it in English and learn helps to fit language learning into your life. Whether you have a passion for cooking or you need to improve the English that you use at work to build your career, Enjoy it in English and learn is also personalised to your interests and needs.

So, how does it work?

You can join the Enjoy it in English and learn as a 1-to-1 class, or in small group class with a friend or colleague. Here’s what happens:

  1. We have a conversation about what to read, watch or listen to in English over the next month, and how to learn from it.
  2. You decide what you would like to read, watch or listen to in English, and how much time you can spend doing that per week.
  3. Each week you read, watch or listen to what you have chosen, and you make notes in your Enjoy it in English and learn journal.
  4. We meet and talk about what you have read, watched, or listened to, the use of English in it, and the talking points relating to it. This is your chance to practise speaking and to learn from the English that we use.

I can’t wait to find out what you’ve been reading, watching or listening to!

Wait a minute! What type of English course is it?

It’s an integrated skills course. In your daily life you usually use your English skills together. For example, when you have a conversation you listen to the other person and then respond to them. After watching a film or TV series, we often talk about it with friends. (“It was great. You’d love it!”, It was terrible. I wouldn’t bother watching it.” etc) When you learn English, you should practise your English skills together as well. It’s natural!

Reading and listening are also great ways to develop your English by exposing you to a wider range of English than you would see and hear otherwise. With help to unlock this language, you can notice it, learn it, use it.

If you’d like to know more about the Enjoy it in English and learn, then book a time to have a chat with me. It would be great to hear from you.

So, what do Nick’s learners say?

Beatriz, from Spain

Before I started taking English classes with Nick, I found it difficult to have free time to study English and learn more daily vocabulary. I used the same vocabulary every day, and struggled to interact with work colleagues.

Since I started my English classes I am feeling more confident with my English. Nick corrects and explain how to say the things properly and I have learnt a lot of vocabulary. Our conversations have given me more knowledge and also confidence when I express myself. Nick is nice and polite, the classes pass fast and in the end he shares all in writing with the explanation (grammar, vocabulary, ways to say things etc..) of everything done during the class. I would advice anyone interested in improving their English to start ASAP with Nick 🙂

Amanda, from Spain

I’ve been taking one-to-one English classes and conversation classes with Nick for a while now, and I believe he is a very committed teacher. He cares about his students’ development and he’s also a nice person. I encourage everyone to participate in his English classes!

Federica, from Italy

Nick is a very prepared teacher, as well as an kind and helpful person. His lessons are tailored to the needs of students. I found the materials he shared very useful; they summarize each time what emerges during the conversations. Surely it is only the beginning of a cycle of lessons that I will continue without doubt!
